The Lar Feliz USA Foundation was formed in 2006 to raise awareness of and funding for Projeto Lar Feliz in Sao Paulo, Brazil.  Lar Feliz means Happy Home in English and that is exactly what it is to approximately 70 children who have suffered abuse, abandonment, and homelessness as a result of parental neglect or death.

Missionaries Paul and Jill van Opstal founded Lar Feliz in 2001. Lar Feliz provides children between the ages of birth and 18 with a Christian home where they receive love, respect, support and encouragement at all hours of the day and night.  Many kids have found faith in Christ during their stay at Lar Feliz.  It has become a model children’s shelter in Sao Paulo.
